Shunya Pratichi Mathur

Shunya' Pratichi Mathur is the founder of Vedika Global, Inc, not for profit foundation dedicated to promoting conscious education in Ayurveda, rooted in Vedic spiritual tradition. As Vedika's leader, Pratichi heads Vedika Gurukula, a back to tradition college of Ayurveda for international seekers, spearheads community welfare initiatives, and directs the establishment and operation of low cost Ayurveda wellness clinics for at risk populations. Pratichi's pioneering vision has facilitated a paradigm shift in contemporary Ayurvedic education options, reviving the traditional Gurukula elements of "experiential learning, personal healing, community welfare and selfless service to humanity", and thereby reconnecting studentship in Ayurvedic medicine to a deeper spiritual process of personal and global transformation.

The "gurukula method" is subjective and holistic versus being mainly scientific and objective, and this method attempts to integrate modern with ancient and science with spirituality. Pratichi is committed to promoting and documenting the "Gurukula method": by supporting parallel study of Vedanta and Yoga Darshans, along with instruction in Jyotish, Vaastu Shastra, Yajna Shastra, and other allied Vedic sciences; supporting the healing of the healer through a required daily immersion in Ayurveda practices; and ensuring a spiritually elevated journey of studentship by expounding the merit of walking the enlightened path of spiritual discipline, as exemplified by the enlightened sages of the timeless tradition. Pratichi is herself a widely respected teacher and a published author, and has been featured in San Francisco Chronicle, Tathaastu Magazine, and Yoga Journal and serves on the board of several professional organizations serving Ayurveda and allied Vedic sciences including the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM), and Tathaastu Magazine for Mind, Body, and Soul published from New Jersey.

Pratichi is fortunate to hail from a traditional family in India dedicated to the promotion and living of the Indian Vedic traditions, especially Vedanta., Yoga, and of course, the lived tradition of Ayurveda. Her personal inspirations are her own grandfather Baba Ayodhya Nath Sinha, a revered saint like personality from Uttar Pradesh who imparted to seekers experiential learning and "Gurukula method" type education for body, mind and soul, and Sadhus, enlightened universal beings who embody the message of hope and healing for every being in every culture, and make self healing, self awareness and self realization a possibility for all sincere seekers of the supreme truth.
