Founder and Managing Director
Prasad Kaipa is the managing director of the Mithya Institute for Learning and
Knowledge Architecture since 1990. He also teaches through Saybrook Graduate
School, Antioch University, Seattle Graduate Management Program and International
Masters Program in Management (at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore
Executive Education Division). Prasad distributes his time between research
on the nature of learning and consulting with organizations (100 days of each
a year) and between USA and India.
Prasad applied his research to design work with his customers on strategy development,
creativity & innovation, intellectual capital, executive development, knowledge
management, and learning organizations. He has worked as a consultant to many
Fortune 100 companies in USA (like Boeing, Ford, Xerox, Quaker Oats, Sun Microsystems,
Hewlett Packard and Bristol-Myers-Squibb) and governmental and educational institutions
in USA and India (Eicher Group, Mastek, TVS Group, Silicon Automation Systems,
Kirloskar Multimedia, Samtel Group, Government of India, Indian Oil, and NDDB).
He brings a systemic perspective and an unconventional approach integrating
‘heart and spirit’ with logic and rationality to his work. Prasad’s clients
have reported increased productivity & energy, new ideas and possibilities in
addition to deeper clarity and meaning in their work after working with him.
As a manager in the Apple University, Prasad was asked to create a technology
education division for Apple employees using innovative learning approaches.
Later, with a charter to help design ‘a learning processor that augments human
intelligence,’ Prasad went around the world, researching how people learn and
‘unlearn.’
Prasad originally got his doctorate in Physics and helped build an international
radiation research laboratory in the University of Utah with Dr. Ed Haskell
(1981-87). Prasad also worked as an educator/researcher (Saybrook Institute
1994-), as an international product marketing manager (1987-88) and a technology
advisor (1988-89) (Apple) and received several awards for his contributions.
Athena Interactive released award winning CD-ROMs for leaders based on his learning
interface concepts and his new pyramid building methodology. Prasad is currently
on the board of advisors/directors for Partnerships for Change, Athena Interactive,
Foundation to Promote Positive Learning Processes, Global Youth Academy, and
Gatherings for Ecoculture. He is on the editorial board of a new management
journal ‘Chinmaya Management Review’ that originates in India.
With Steve Johnson, Prasad published a book titled ‘Igniting Your Natural Genius’
on the Internet and is currently working on another manuscript with a working
title, ‘Designing Organizations that Learn: An Executive Guide to Learning in
the 21st Century.’ Many of his articles, book, pyramids and tools are available

Prasad is married to Dr. Vinoda and has two kids Pravin (12) and Vidya (8).
He enjoys reading, listening to Indian Carnatic music and playing table tennis
(and tennis).
